| Warning!
If you plan on heating Hard Boiled Eggs in the microwave please be cautious. This product is most typically served cold as a snack or as an add on to a lunch/dinner but some consumers prefer to heat the hard boiled eggs up to consume warm.
While microwave cooking is very easy, it is always important to remember that this method of preparation heats food very quickly and the internal temperature of the product being microwaved is normally considerably hotter than the outside. It is recommended when cooking any type of eggs in the microwave to always keep the following points in mind.
EGGS MICRO-COOKED IN THEIR SHELLS WILL EXPLODE! |
Omelettes, scrambled eggs, and poached eggs micro-cook well on full power (high). |
Even out of the shell, eggs may explode in the microwave because rapid heating causes a buildup of steam. Always use a wooden pick or tip of a knife to break the yolk membrane of an unbeaten egg before micro-cooking to allow the steam to escape. |
Covering cooking containers with a lid, plastic wrap, or wax paper encourages more even cooking and (if you forgot to prick the yolks) helps to confine the explosion! |
