Maddy Kelly's Whiskey Sour

Maddy Kelly, Canadian Olympian in the 800m and Burnbrae Farms sponsored athlete, shares her recipe for this delicious Whiskey Sour - a family favourite.

Nutritional Information

Ingredients

2 oz
Bourbon or Rye Whiskey
1 oz / 30 ml
lemon juice
1 oz / 30 ml
simple syrup
1 tbsp / 15 ml
Naturegg Simply Egg Whites, well shaken
1
maraschino cherry
small
splash of bitters (optional)

Directions

  1. Add the first four ingredients to a cocktail shaker, with a generous amount of ice.

  2. Vigorously shake the cocktail, for about 30 to 45 seconds.

  3. Pour the drink over ice (or not, really it’s dealer’s choice here) and top with a Maraschino cherry and a few dashes of bitters.

Tips

  1. You can use an old-fashioned glass or champagne coupe, depending on your mood and the occasion.

Tips: Whipping

If you over beat egg whites and they're too stiff, gently stir in 1 or 2 unbeaten whites to every 5 or 6 whites or add a few teaspoons of sugar and beat again briefly until they are smooth.
