Information nutritionnelle

Ingrédients

1 medium carrot
1/3 tasse water OR chicken stock
1/3 tasse vegetable shortening
1 Naturegg Omega 3 egg, beaten
1/2 c. à thé vanilla
1/2 c. à thé cinnamon
1/4 c. à thé baking powder
1/4 tasse flour (whole wheat or blend of your choice)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 275 F (based on Convection Oven). Prepare cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

  2. Wash and peel the carrot. Slice into even pieces. Place in pot of boiling water and cook until soft.

  3. Leave carrots in water to cool. Then coarsely chop carrots in a small blender. Water can be reserved to add to dry ingredients in step 4.

  4. Using a stand mixer, whip wet ingredients: chopped carrots, water (option to use water from boiled carrots) or stock, vanilla, shortening and the egg.

  5. Blend dry ingredients: Cinnamon, Baking Powder and Flour. Add to wet ingredients until just combined.

  6. Place some of the mixture in a Medium Piping Bag with the Star Tip #824 attached.

  7. Pipe sticks about 6" in length. Refill Bag as needed.

  8. Bake Sticks for 1 Hour (soft baked). For crunchy sticks, bake for an additional 20-30 Minutes. Turn oven off with treats inside to dehydrate completely.

Conseils

  1. Substitute other veggies that your dog enjoys in this recipe. Just boil and coarsely chop 3/4 cup vegetable of your choice - try beets, zucchini, sweet potato or pumpkin!

  2. A convection oven works best for drying or dehydrating dog treats. If baking in a regular oven, increase the baking time to reach the desired consistency.

  3. If the treats are fully dehydrated/oven cured, they can be stored in an airtight container and kept in a cool, dry place with no direct light for up to 6 months.

  4. If the treats are soft, they can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
