Ingredients

Cake
2 cup / 500 ml all purpose flour
1 1/2 cup / 375 ml granulated sugar
1/2 cup / 125 ml cocoa powder
2 tsp / 10 ml baking powder
1 tsp / 5 ml baking soda
1/2 tsp / 2 ml salt
1 cup / 250 ml sour milk
1/2 cup / 125 g Naturegg Omega Plus cracked eggs, well shaken
1/2 cup / 125 ml vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp / 7 ml vanilla
Frosting
1/2 package / 250 g light cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 cup / 375 ml icing sugar
1/4 cup / 50 ml cocoa powder

Directions

  1. For cake: in large mixer bowl, blend all ingredients. Then beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Pour into greased 13" x 9” (33 cm x 23 cm) baking pan.

  2. Bake at 350°F (180°C) 30-35 minutes or until cake tester inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool on rack.

  3. For frosting: beat cream cheese until smooth. Add icing sugar and cocoa; beat until creamy. Spread over cooled cake. Store in refrigerator.

Tips

  1. To sour milk, place 1 tbsp (15 ml) vinegar in measuring cup and add milk to make 1 cup (250 ml).
