Burnbrae Farms Olympic Athlete Update

General

We would like to congratulate all our Canadian Olympians in a very successful Summer Olympics! We earned a historic 23 medals in Tokyo which surpassed our previous record for medals in the Summer Olympics.  In addition, we ranked 11 th overall in gold medals, improving from our 20 th place finish in the last Olympics.  We would also like to congratulate our Burnbrae Farms sponsored athletes Jenny Casson, Conlin McCabe and Tim Nedow for their terrific performances and for making Canada and Burnbrae Farms incredibly proud!

Conlin McCabe

In his 3 rd Olympic Games, Conlin put on fantastic performances in the Men’s coxless pair rowing event.  After finishing 3 rd place in heat 3 with a time of 6:40.99 and 3 rd place once again in the Semi-finals in the time of 6:19.15, he found himself once again in the Finals for the 3 rd consecutive Olympic Games.  He had a spectacular race and finished just shy of a medal taking home 4 th place in the time of 6:20.43.  Although he did not finish on the podium, coming in 4 th place competing against the most prestigious rowers in the world is no easy feat and we are incredibly proud of him!  If you would like to learn more about Conlin and his achievements, click here: https://bbfindustrial.com/en/conlinmccabe.html .

Tim Nedow

In his 2 nd consecutive year competing at the Summer Olympic Games, Tim took part in the Men’s shot-put Qualification at in Tokyo.  He threw 19.42 metres placing him 16 th in Group A.  Although he did not advance to the next round we are extremely proud of Tim for representing Canada and Burnbrae Farms!  If you would like to learn more about Tim including his favourite egg dish, click here: http://burnbraefarmsfoodservice.com/timnedow.html

Jenny Casson

In her first Olympic Games, Jenny and her partner Jill Moffatt competed in the Women’s lightweight double sculls event.  The pair finished 6 th in the Semi-finals completing the race in the time of 7:00.82.  In finals B, they finished 6 th once again with the time of 6:59.72 placing them 12 th overall in the event.  We are very proud of Jenny and her success in her first Olympic Games!  If you would like to learn more about Jenny, click here https://burnbraefarmsfoodservice.com/en/jennifercasson.html

After the year long delay due to COVID-19 pandemic, The 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games has finally come to a close.   It has been an incredibly challenging year for everyone; however, it has been a testament to how strong and adaptive we can all be.  We wish all the athletes good luck in training for the next Summer Olympic games being held in Paris in 2024!
