Children's Breakfast Club Fundraiser

General

Burnbrae Farms is proud to support The Children’s Breakfast Club again this year. Every morning thousands of children enjoy hot culturally reflective meals which include Burnbrae Farms’ omelettes and scrambled eggs. On December 16th, we sponsored and participated in the annual “Egg Creations” Cooking Competition to raise awareness to ensure children across Toronto and the GTA start their day with a nutritious breakfast. The Hudson family was busy judging, cooking and supporting the event!

Our very own President, Margaret Hudson was one of the judges for the competition. She and Gord Martineau from CityTV Toronto were two of a panel of judges reviewing the 25 delicious team submissions.

Here is our Burnbrae Farms Team! Thanks to Sue Hudson, Katherine, Matt, Margaret Hudson, Emily and John McFall for their participation. There were more than 25 teams competing to raise funds to support daily breakfast for more than 4,000 children. Burnbrae Farms was pleased to donate a dozen Naturegg Omega 3 eggs to each team's cooking station!

It’s a well-established fact that eating a healthy breakfast can increase children’s attention span and learning ability. Research clearly shows that breakfast can help improve children’s memory, problem-solving skills and test scores. And protein-rich foods, like eggs, make good sense as part of a balanced breakfast because protein can help children stay full longer. That means they’ll be less likely to get distracted by hunger and better able to concentrate well.

Burnbrae is proud to support the Children's Breakfast Clubs weekly with omelettes and scrambled eggs. We also donated $5,000 to the effort to ensure children across the Toronto and the GTA receive a proper breakfast every morning. Here we are with Margaret Hudson and John McFall of Burnbrae Farms, Jennifer Valentine of Breakfast Television, Rick Gosling (Children's Breakfast Clubs),  and R&B singer Julie Black.
