Brandied Holiday Egg Nog

Ingredients

4 cup / 1 L homogenized milk
1/3 cup / 75 ml granulated sugar
1 tsp / 5 ml vanilla
1 cup / 250 g Naturegg Omega Plus cracked eggs, well shaken
1/2 cup / 125 ml brandy (optional)
pinch ground nutmeg
1/2 cup / 125 ml 35% whipping cream

Directions

  1. In saucepan, combine milk and sugar. Place over medium-high heat. Heat until bubbles begin to form around edge of pan and sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Cover and cool to room temperature.

  2. Pour liquid eggs into milk mixture, whisking until combined. Stir in brandy and nutmeg. Refrigerate. (Mixture may be made to this point, covered and refrigerated for up to 2 days.)

  3. Beat cream until soft peaks form; fold into milk mixture. Spoon into glasses; sprinkle each with additional nutmeg or cinnamon, if desired.

Tips

  1. Reduce fat content by omitting whipped cream.
